GBV resources relevant to CP actors

Gender-Based Violence (GBV) is widespread but often hidden. We should assume that GBV is taking place and make sure we include mitigation, prevention and response to GBV in all CP actions! You will see below a number of GBV response resources that we selected for you:

Of course we start with Standard 9 from the Child Protection Minimum Standards (CPMS)!

To gain a comprehensive overview of GBV, we recommend the online course "Managing Gender-Based Violence Programmes in Emergencies". It is free and available in English, French, Spanish and Arabic.

And we also recommend:

- The Handbook for Coordinating GBV Interventions in Emergencies. Note: this handbook is designed primarly for GBV coordinators but it is also a useful tool for CP coordination groups.

- The Inter-agency Minimum Standards for GBV in Emergencies Programming

- The Caring for Child Survivors (CCS) of Sexual Abuse Guidelines for health and psychosocial service providers in humanitarian settings  provide a practical approach to helping child survivors, and their families, recover and heal from the impacts of sexual abuse. ARABIC / ENGLISH / FRENCH

- The Inter-agency GBV case management guidelines
