The Child Protection Area of Responsibility (CP AoR) was activated in Colombia in March 2020 to facilitate a humanitarian response on the protection of children and adolescents against all types of violence, neglect, exploitation and abuse in emergency contexts such armed conflict and violence as well as natural disasters. The main role of the AoR is to facilitate and ensure the protection of children and adolescents affected by all types of emergencies, which is central to the humanitarian response of national authorities and all actors in the humanitarian coordination architecture.
