Remote training: Orientation of frontline workers delivering community based mental health and psychosocial support

With support from the UNICEF Latin America and Caribbean Regional Office and the UNICEF Venezuela office, the CP AoR, in collaboration with partners, has developed a Mental Health and Psychosocial Support (MHPSS) virtual training.  The training consists of a series of downloadable videos, powerpoint presentations, and handouts. Training modules are currently available in English and Spanish and include the following:  1) Introduction to MHPSS, 2) Guidelines on Community Based MHPSS for Children, 3) Psychological First Aid for Children, 4) Integration of MHPSS in Case Management, 5) Groups that Require Special Attention, 6) Prevention of Sexual Exploitation and Abuse (PSEA), and 7) Self-Care When Working With Children in Distress.

While the training series was initially intended to be an orientation for frontline workers delivering community-based MHPSS, the training can be used by anyone interested in MHPSS.  For more information, contact Koen Sevenants, CP AoR MHPSS Coordination Specialist.
